Clowney's a defensive end. A breakout run down the side line isn't exactly a play where you're looking for your DE to make the play unless, of course, he fakes and gets Clowney to bite inside before breaking it around the end.

In the early practice clips, I was not very impressed with #32 and kept wondering "who is this guy"? But - the more I watched his clips, the more impressed I got with him. I still rate Hotrod and Brooks over him, but this guy seemed to get it. I'm not sure if I rate him over a 'healthy' DJ Howard, but that's a pretty solid RB corp.
They mentioned that he played at WR some at Daniel, so I wonder how effective he could be as a RB catching the ball out of the backfield? His speed might be much more valuable if you could get the ball to him in 'space'.

the RB position will start clearing up, sooo.. I don't wanna make too much out of it yet.
With that said, I think the position has a lot of work to be done here, a lot. And there clearly shouldn't be no featured back (which there isn't)

the staff loved his toughness and his ability to catch out of the backfield. i believe they looked at him as another Darren Mcfadden type

With a 100% playbook installation, there should be all types of opportunities for great plays and success. The O-LINE has great depth, has been there, thrown in at a young age, competed against some strong defenses and great players, a couple of divisional championships, an ACC championship, one game from another possible ACC crown last season; now it there time to move and control the line of scrimmage. All backs or any back should be game ready at all time and licking their chops, and ready to pounce on a golden opportunity to do great things as a player and for his team. PS: With the receiving corps loaded, this definitely will spread the field and increase the opportunties for the RBs to make great plays in open field. Opportunties should be all over the field for our RBs this season. "BE YE ALSO READY, AND YOU WILL BE BLESSED".

Being from rock hill I was at that south Pointe game. Nobody laid a finger on him. 1st play of the 2nd half. And deshaun Watson played left tackle and was stuffing clowney
