the favorites to win the conference, and fired our coach after a loss to Wake. Dabo's hire was about the only bright spot of that season. That and the defense being really good.

Mandel's point. We started preseason top ten, got embarrassed by Alabama, lost to Weak Florist, took ourselves out of both the national radar and the ACC conversation before mid October. That season was a monumental disappointment, but it was good for us because we placed our trust in Dabo.
I'd go back and relive 2008 again just to get Dabo all over again, but the 2008 team was the quintessential "Clemsoning" team and a prime example of an overrated program whose preseason hype was undeserved. We had proved nothing as a program to that point and Alabama showed us that week 1.

I'll personally never forget the 2005 vols....I was in Knoxville for work during that season and it was great to have all of their fans in the office talking about wimmenz basketball by mid october.
