Hard to argue with him. He's got 6 sacks in 4 games***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Which has him tied for third nationally....

Sep 30, 2014, 2:10 PM

with three other players.

Shane Ray with Missouri is first with eight. Hau'oli Kikaha and Danny Shelton (both from Washington) are tied for second with seven each.

All of which have played in 5 games vs. Beasley's 4.

Well he is actually living up to the hype so far this year.

Unlike #7 last year. Pretty sure VB already has more sacks than Clowney had ALL OF LAST YEAR.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep Clowney had 3 all last year. Vic has 6 so far***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Didn't you hear, Clowney changed how offense is played.

Sep 30, 2014, 2:08 PM [ in reply to Re: FB Update: Beasley: "I feel like I am the best defensive end in the country" ]

Or something like that...some excuse why he had such a pitiful year.

But, good for him...he's nursing this year's injury as a multimillionaire.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Texas has really gotten their moneys worth.***

No it was because he had to face such fantastic offensive linemen in that big, nasty SEC....lol

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let's go with inner confidence & keep producing every down.

Sep 30, 2014, 2:12 PM

Been consistent but needs a couple of really HUGE games!

Rolling my eyes..... He made same statement before Ga. Game!
He may be but please just let your play speak volumes.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It isn't bragging if you back it up.***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I prefer my Clemson players humble until after the fact.

Sep 30, 2014, 4:09 PM

Just sayin'...no need to brag when you are the best because everyone already knows it.

Re: FB Update: Beasley: "I feel like I am the best defensive end in the country"

Sep 30, 2014, 4:16 PM

He is a good player but seems very immature making this kind of statement. He needs to grow up mentally like he has physically. It will help him be even better.

Re: FB Update: Beasley: "I feel like I am the best defensive end in the country"

What's immature about thinking you are the best at something??? Absolutely nothing!

Re: FB Update: Beasley: "I feel like I am the best defensive end in the country"

Sep 30, 2014, 7:17 PM

The way he acts on the field is not over the top after a sack he plays hard and makes mistakes. He very well might be the best so I have no issue with him saying that self-motivation is needed and if this is how he does by saying it which means he has to back it up then so be it keep on keeping on big guy

Re: FB Update: Beasley: "I feel like I am the best defensive end in the country"

Sep 30, 2014, 4:17 PM

Great defensive ends don't let anyone get outside of them. Job #1 is always containment on the run or pass. See the last play vs. Florida State. That was allowed to happen primarily because of Vic's loss of containment. Great player, but he missed on that one.

Re: FB Update: Beasley: "I feel like I am the best defensive end in the country"

Sep 30, 2014, 6:15 PM

Glad he's self confident. Wish he'd let others state that, I respect humility.makes me cringe, I think of Clowney when I hear things like that...just my opinion.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Now posted in the locker room of every team we have to play.

Sep 30, 2014, 6:29 PM

Vic, please, stop talking.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He needs to shut up

Sep 30, 2014, 7:40 PM

and just play the best he can. His play will take care of what he keeps saying. If or when he has a bad game, he has really set himself up for the media

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The media asked him the question, so just how did he set

Sep 30, 2014, 7:52 PM

himself up with them? Seems like they set HIM up by putting him on the spot. Should he have named someone he thinks is better? That would have been like inviting the pro teams to draft those "better" guys ahead of him.

Let others praise you.

Sep 30, 2014, 11:22 PM

No, but he could have just replied that his goal is to be the best at his position and plans on proving it.

Re: The media asked him the question, so just how did he set

Oct 1, 2014, 12:44 AM [ in reply to The media asked him the question, so just how did he set ]

he could have simply answered with "I think I am holding my own and we will see how the season plays out"

He did not have to answer with any names. Beasley has already been in the media saying he was better than clowney. When he said that he also set himself up for the question today. Media will be brutal when he has a bad game. Just play the game and prove it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wonder what makes him think that.***

Confused about why people are saying he should shut up and play. Do you not want confident players? You want your players saying other people are better? Granted I do only feel this way because he has been producing but that's beyond the point lol

to calm down. He didn't say anything bad whatsoever. He was asked if he thinks he is the best, and he answered honestly. I'm glad he answered it that way, I wouldn't want him to sheepishly dodge the question, and he is certainly in the running for the best.

As for UGA, they remember him from last year. They absolutely gameplanned for him.
