in the 2nd season, when Andy drops the country boy persona somewhat and becomes the straight-man surrounded by nuts.
Seasons 3 -5 are simply amazing. Favorites in no particular order:

The world was horrible back then.

Racism and lynchings were everywhere. People smoked WAY more cigarettes. Cars didn't even have catalytic converters. Light bulbs used WAY too much electricity, new dams were being built blocking fish habitat, and coal was being used to make electricity. Ethanol and solar panels weren't even invented back then. Toilets flushed using THREE gallons of water and rarely clogged, and showers were powerful. And worst of all, appliances like WASHING MACHINES and refrigerators were called (get this) "durable goods" and lasted DECADES.
Thank you for this reminder of our horrible, backward, and violent past.
