hey grandpaw, what's for supper?

here's the same ol chicken fajitas, after a rare weekend of working both days, trying to enjoy the grill outside while still nice. Beverage undetermined, at the moment it's the rather pedestrian Devil's Backbone Gold Leaf Lager. Pretty much a better-quality generic American lager. OK for thirst.
whatayahavin'?

Plus I've got some shrimp I've got to do something with, just haven't fingered that part out yet. But it's gonna be good regardless.
Weekend dining is always good, even when it's canned soup.

Washed and drained (not soaked) a 16 oz. Bag of lentils. Two cans of beef broth, one can fire-roasted tomoatoes, one can of chopped spinach, diced up carrots and onions, browned kielbasa in olive oil with garlic and black pepper, deglazed the pan with 3 or 4 ounces of beer and dumped everything in the crock. Topped off with water and let it roll on high for 3 hours. Grabbed a baguette to sop up everything from the bowl, still ended up with enough for maybe 3 more meals for the two of us.

out just fine. All I did was brown it a little, but I did dump it in about 45 minutes into the cook. I started the crock and then browned the kielbasa, so it was bubbling pretty good by the time I added meat. Most of what I've read says seafood and dairy are the things you really want to add at the end. I was more worried about the lentils getting done in time, I thought it would take longer in a crock but that wasn't the case. I'm really just learning with the slow cooker...that never was one of my kitchen tricks until I got interested in it this year.
