Daniel, what are chances that Brad gets another long contract extension if we win three or more games? Please tell me DRAD is smarter than that?

I would doubt there's another extension any time soon.

Can't give another extension without an NCAA berth next year, and that's going to be a LONG shot. I would bet entering next season they are picked 12th or so and can't see them finishing much better than 10th.

I'd say we're picked ahead of BC

that's about it. But if you are keeping him you can't expect any recruiting with just three years left on the deal. That's why now is the time to move on. A new coach has a respectable chance to keep this recruiting class in tact, but a move next year will hand a new coach zilch

I see your point but it puts Drad in a tough spot. Every coach needs 4 years on his contract to recruit with. Not extending his contract arms rival coaches with ammunition against Brownell. For the record no NCAA tournament bid should be no extension. That leaves one option and that is hire a new coach. For Drad it's a tough choice.

Either we keep him with an extension, or we fire him.

You can't keep him with less than 4 years on his contract. What's the point in that?

Exactly-and if we do that we need to

renegotiate the buyout.
Also, I think we could see DRad "suggest" some staff changes. Something has to change with recruiting and this staff apart from Smith hasn't really produced. Still have no clue why Bender was brought back

I hope you mean by suggest that Brownell has to fire some assistant coaches and hire some young recruiters who know how to get top 50 players. The buyout should be no more than 1 million.

I admired and respected Leggett (still do), but I don't think just that one thing got him fired. It was a combination of several things IMO. Leggett needed a paradigm shift in his game plan, and he was too set in his ways.

Brad has not built up any athletic markers to save his job. No ACC titles! 1 NCAA tournament berth! After 7 years what is saving his job?

Not to worry cuz CLEMSON won't get past the 2nd round IMO. Yes - we can probably beat Oakland (whomever they are), but Bama will beat us in the 2nd round (or Richmond if we play them). This season is going to end painfully.
