What to be done about the nation's greatest terrorist?

Feb 26, 2017, 8:50 AM

In the last 15 years, terrorists have killed about 400 people in the US. In that same timeframe, about 1.3 million have died in alcohol-related deaths.

Legalize pot?***

That is the solution. For potheads.***

people concerned about opioid addiction, people concerned about overcrowding in prisons, etc. etc.

And yes, potheads.

What is the total cost of drug addiction in the US today?***

Feb 26, 2017, 11:59 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seems irrelevant since we're talking about pot.

Feb 26, 2017, 12:21 PM

I'm not sure what the cost of drug addiction in the US today is. Can you enlighten me?

While you're at it, look up the cost of alcohol addiction/damage caused by drunks, and cost of tobacco addiction.

It is the height of stupidity that you can walk in a store and buy a pack of cigarettes or a bottle of liquor but can be arrested for possessing a joint.

Alcohol and tobacco kill hundreds of thousands of people every single year yet there is not a single recorded death caused by marijuana use.

Now this is for all illicit drugs. It's a safe wager the vast majority of those expenses are not related to pot.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You forgot the crime, stealing to get illicit drugs.

Feb 26, 2017, 4:46 PM

You forgot the $billions going back to the cartels. You forgot the murders in support of the cartels in both the US and Mexico. You forgot the heartache of the mothers and fathers who's children's lives are swallowed in addiction. The costs are unknown and unknowable, but they are horrendous.

No, suicides and opioid overdose, they surpassed car accidents as cause of death.

Thanks for noticing...

xtiger suffered from ODS for 8 years and now he's oversensitive about attacks on his orange hero.

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.
- Jonathan Swift

You guys need to stop trying to make TDS happen.

Re: We could stop drinking so much.***

Feb 26, 2017, 8:21 PM

Personal responsibility is where it all lies. I never drink and drive. Literally never. I got a DUI nearly 16-17 years ago and never gotten behind the wheel again. I was lucky I didn't hurt someone else.

When I post on here after drinking I am typically back in my hotel room bored and want to argue politics or yell at Balm. If that's the worst, then I am guilty of the worst.

Personal responsibility is where it's at in all of these cases and situations. We ALL need to be held accountable for our actions. No matter our race, religion, financial status, everyone needs to be held accountable.

The fact that Trump doesn't drink, really makes me respect him more. I think it's cool that Obama would have a beer with people, but from all I have heard Trump rarely or doesn't drink/smoke at all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Good thoughts...thanks.***

Feb 26, 2017, 8:23 PM

I had a roommate in college and his uncle got his 3rd DUI and killed a lady all the same night. He got a life sentence. He has been in for nearly 30 years. I think that is the Justice system at work. The whole family agreed he deserved it.

It's tough, but it's all personal responsibility.

Feb 27, 2017, 7:57 PM

So its okay for terrorists too kill 400 since 1.3 million were killed in alcohol related
deaths? All of these deaths could have been prevented. Don't ignore terrorism.Cigarettes
kill many people, accidents do also and on and on.But we shouldn't be killed by terrorists.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't say anything about ignoring anything.

Well Prod, since alcohol is at the root we should eradicate

Feb 28, 2017, 3:53 PM

all alcohol. By the same order, if we can eradicate all religion I think we can get rid of terror related deaths. Problem solved.
