My favorite is Notre Dame moving up 2 while Michigan dropped 4. I hope the poll is a week old, but it posted as updated today.

Experts - Really? I know this poll is essentially meaningless, but one can't help but wonder how anybody, much less a more people than not, would move Oklahoma ahead of Clemson following an Oklahoma loss to an unranked KState while Clemson dominates in a blowout win. Exactly what is the thought process there?

None , there is no thought process used here if that is an accurate depiction of today's poll .
For Dabo and this team it's really straightforward . Simple matter of Clemson taking each game as a chapter in the book .
The book is done when we win it all in New Orleans having battled through the football aspect of the season and having ignored and compartmentalized all of the negative noise into its proper place , the world of make-believe TV .

What are these rankings supposed to be for? Even worse than Oklahoma jumping us, Michigan blew out ND and dropped 4 spots while ND moved up 1.

I think they update the poll on Mondays the update date was probably just for the records. No way Auburn and OU would have climbed spots after losing. Also this is the same poll that ranked Clemson #2 after we beat Bama for the 2016 Championship.

Pretty sure those rankings are old. Makes no sense that Notre Dame would rise, Oklahoma would rise and Michigan would fall.

Win/loss totals are updated as of today. New rankings will be posted tomorrow. CBS had us 5th last week, so we are not down one spot this week. We will probably move up to 4th.

one would assume that the poll has been updated. I agree that is most likely not the case here, just pointing out that it's a poor and confusing way to do it.

Prior to the poll being updated - the updated date is just a trigger off of any change - same thing happens with the other polls and people jump the gun every year
