Lattimore

Just heard on the radio that Lattimore turned down the job to join Muschamp 's staff. I guess the firing of the Chaplin sealed the deal good for Lattimore that was a smart move not to jump on a sinking ship!

Looks like it was mandated by NCAA. Who would of thought

The NCAA says he can be a coach, but he can't be on staff?

Some of these rules are hard to decipher.

the NCAA makes-it-up as the go along so everything is subject to change based on their agenda at the time.

It's actually pretty simple. He can't be on staff and run his own camps. He can do one or the other.

Pretty obvious why if you've ever followed college athletics.

levity and cynicism are still completely lost on you.

Not surprising considering you have the intellect of a box of blonde hair.

Ahhhh...the value of an education from the University of Second Choice.

Well, yeah, it is pretty easy for us to understand because

it is a rule. It is your Coot friends that are having a hard time understanding why the rules only apply to everyone else and the NCAA only picks on them!

We do. We follow Clemson and you follow Coots.***

The NCAA ruled that he cannot join the USUC staff. Conflict of interest. Lattimore wants to continue working with the youth groups, etc I think, so that excludes him from being able to join them.

no, no red flags with that at all. Its not like he had a bunch of NFL money he needed to keep from Uncle Sam.

Just FYI

Lattimore pocketed somewhere between $8MM to $9MM from his NFL contract and his insurance money form the NCAA

He got $1.7 from the NCAA for his career ending injury and never playing another game in the NCAA and never playing 4 games in the NFL.
Another $5 for the catastrophic injury insurance that cost him an NFL career.
The 49ers showed real class and kept him on the roster (IR) for 2 years which paid him 2 full NFL seasons and gives him NFL health benefits for the next 8 years
And he got $400K when he signed.

The total number was around $8.6 as reported by a few folks.

Plus he did sign a few endorsement deals.....So he made more before he turned 23 than 99% of the people will make in their entire life.
