This year I'm expecting less.

I did buy Pay Days, 3 Musketeers and Snickers just in case tho.

Candy is sofa king expensive. As the most wealthy person on this board by a wide margin, even I balked at the price of a variety bag.

The key is to buy it November 1st and save it till next year***

Can I crash at your place then?

We have 27 kids in our neighborhood 8-9yo. Another 40 kids of various tricker treating ages. Then we have the imports who come in here to trick or treat. We bought FIVE HUGE SAMS BAGS OF CANDY. We will probably run out. We sit on the porch and hand out candy because it's futile to get up and go to the door 200 times in 2 hours.

Streets are literally FULL of people. Hundreds....of...people. Parents usually walk around with mixed drinks socializing while the kids go house to house. We have 3 full haunted houses, about 5 people who go totally all out in their yards, and an entire cul-de-sac of houses lit up brighter than Christmas. There's an arms race in the cul-de-sac to outdo each other and it's insane. Luckily we're not on the cul-de-sac, so we are spared.

Wife and I and SIL and BIL and our 5 kids will make the journey tonight. MIL, FIL and outlaws will man the candy at our house. I plan to drink a stiff Yeti full of brown liquor and a little coke on the evening. It's the only way you can cope.

We got maybe a dozen legitimate trick or treaters last year

Oct 31, 2018, 1:49 PM

The rest were parents with infants, and kids who are close to being able to drive. Granted, I'm sure they were all single mom veterans with autism and PTSD.

We've had ONE in 30 years. My sister-in-law brought my niece to the house once when she was little. Niece is 28 years old with a kid now. On a side note...Mrs. Tig bought a couple of pumpkins for the front porch this year for some reason. I thought maybe they were for school, but she wrote trick or treat on them with a Sharpie and stuck them out there. I guess they might entertain the deer, maybe.
