LSU "pelicans" as they were known in 1896

Yup, they switched to "tigers" shortly after we had started the Clemson Tigers team. The Clemson Tigers are an ode to the Princeton Tigers. Most on here mistakenly thought we are named after the Auburn Tigers because our first coach was an Auburn grad.

My point is...don't let LSWho fans talk you into thinking we stole "Tigers" from them or the SEC. We are named after the Princeton Tigers because they were the hottest football team around destroying everyone and they were greatly admired.

There has only been one side that wants to debate about it because Clemson has known they were the original "Death Valley". Maybe some of the younger fans don't know but this was actually a pretty big thing back in the 2012 Chic-fil-a Bowl. The real Tigers have known which is the REAL Death Valley for some time. As a matter of fact that is the first time I can recall it actually being a thing and thats because LSU fans not knowing their own history and making themselves look like idiots not knowing their stadium was called "Deaf Valley" and still even before they were calling their's Deaf this little ole town in the rolling hills of South Carolina was calling their's THE Death Valley of college football.

In 90’s many LSU fans still called their stadium Deaf Valley

Their transition to Death Valley has happened in lat 25 years.

Even a Democrat can't argue with that.

It's nice to see it reported by a major outlet

Especially in such detail.

That is not debatable.
