only return 4 starters on offense and are moving from a run offense to a pass offense with their new QB. Their defense wasn't any good last year and they finished 8 and 5.

Across the line, they've got former 5-star Carl Lawson (who's playing a hybrid LB position), former 5-star Mont. Adams, former 4-star Elijah Daniel, former 4-star DaVonte Lambert, fomer 4-star Dontavious Russell, and former number 1 recruit Byron Cowart. Now, they lost 4 seniors from last year's line, but what they lose in experience they gain in talent. Also, all of those guys except Cowart and Russell have already played a good bit.
I'm not sure what all they've got at LB, but I know they signed a 5-star LB in Tre Williams a couple years ago, and he's now got some experience. They return Kris Frost and Cassanova McKenzie.
I think the reason they didn't look like an Ellis Johnson coached defense last year was because they didn't really have a great pass rusher after Lawson went down. He's back this year, so they should be improved.

Meanwhile, having a new QB is a huge issue for other schools.
I know Aubbie has stocked up on the recruiting front at DL, but let's not forget that the last time we saw these guys, they were giving up 400 yards rushing to Wisconsin. They also had more than 30 points scored on them in 7 of their last 8 games.
I really would not be surprised at all if UofL went out to Jordan-Hare and beat them, or at least made the game very close.

What you mean? They went 8-5 last year and from the SEC! The most awesomest, nflish, bestest, full of sh@t football conference in the Universe. Of course they're #3. SEC ranking isn't based on performance, they're above that standard 'cause they play each other. Thas all it takes. This year it's Auburnz turn to be over-ranked, last year was Alabammer.....next year is LSU's turn agin...

Are were so good last year, plus they're probably bring back like half of their starters.
UL I think will be their toughest test. But that won't be realized until AFTER the season, once it's too late to help any of their ACC brethren propel up the ranks.
