KornCOOT's biggest mistake ever made on Blake McClain--haha!

Feb 5, 2014, 10:02 AM

McClain to sign with USC, by Phil Kornblut

DE Blake McClain (6-4 284) of Jacksonville, FL has decided to sign with USC flipping from Nebraska to whom he committed last weekend. McClain picks the Gamecocks sight unseen. He's never visited. But USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. worked him hard over the last week after he decommitted from Florida State. "It was the fact the coaches were very genuine and really showed tat they wanted me," McClain said. He also said the chance for early playing time at USC was an important factor. Last season McClain had 24 tackles for loss, 15 sacks and forced 15 fumbles. "He's very athletic and can play inside or outside," said his coach Adam Geiss. "He's a heck of an athlete. He can run and make plays."

DE Blake McClain announced on Twitter Saturday night he has committed to Nebraska while on his official visit to Lincoln. McClain had planned to visit Nebraska then visit USC after NSD. But in a text message tonight, McClain said he won't make the USC. "I'm done," said McClain who decommitted from Florida State earlier in the week.

What did bias have to do with this?? Where was his big mistake? Saying he had committed to South Carolina or having to go back and say he had committed to Nebraska?

I don't read Kornblut but I am confused as to how this is a mistake.

No it's not

Remember when he said a certain defensive end was going to be a gamecock and when the player picked Clemson, he pulled his mike off the podium and stormed out. Who can name that famous Clemson Tiger:))

McClain signed his LOI this morning with SC. Reverse the order of the two articles in the OP's post. The top article came out three days after the bottom article. Simple stuff.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No biggie, but it was Jaron Brown and not Kornblut.***

Sorry but you're wrong, that wasn't Kornblut, it was some guy from one of the Carolina chatsheets down here, I think Gamecock Anthem or something like that. In fact I seem to remember Kornblut calling the guy out on it as "unprofessional" on his radio show.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Correct. Jaron Brown and some coot loser other than Korn

Feb 5, 2014, 9:10 PM

Name escapes me at the moment. He had a ####-eatin'-grin on his face as Brown approached the podium then he set his voice recorder up there to capture the "good news". Then as soon as Jaron announced for Clemson (much to the surprise of many) the coot loser took his recorder off the podium and Jaron continued to discuss his commitment. It was quite pathetic yet hilarious at the same time. Guy was a typical coot loser for sure.

Coots should use this strategy more often

Feb 5, 2014, 10:27 AM

McClain has never been to Scar and chose it.

He's going to be highly disappointed.

I have no clue what the OP is trying to say. Didn't the kid just sign with SCAR today, and even if he didn't what did Korn do that was so biased?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Even if you don't know who this guy is and don't know where

Feb 5, 2014, 10:45 AM

he signed this morning it's still incredibly obvious that that the bottom post was first.

1) He committed to Nebraska without visiting USC

2) He "decided to sign with USC flipping from Nebraska to whom he committed LAST WEEKEND"

So yeah...

Re: KornCOOT's biggest mistake ever made on Blake McClain--haha!

Feb 5, 2014, 11:10 PM

The kid had been committed to FSU since back in the summer and told FSU he would not visit anywhere. After the FSU DC left for UGA and a week before signing day FSU told the kid they had a 5 star guy from Mich that was coming and they wanted McClain to greyshirt, as he was Pruit's guy and I guess the new guy didn't like him as much. The kid said "no". The Neb. coach was in the school that day and the kid set up an official visit for the weekend before signing day. USC then got in touch an wanted him to hold off and not sign until after signing day and visit USC next weekend. When the kid got to Neb. he got caught up and committed. When he got home, his parents talked with him and he decided he wanted to be closer to home and signed with USC.

That's the story. Not sure how that makes Kornblut right or wrong.

Congrats to you guys on a nice class.
