Kearse

Apr 30, 2016, 1:05 PM

What was his reasoning for entering the draft early. Does he have kids or some type of disciplinary problems. Did somebody tell him he would go in the first 2 rounds. Sounds like he made a big mistake coming out. Not seeing him taken any time soon.

He was a first rounder until,

Apr 30, 2016, 1:07 PM

he took the last 5 games off, trying to protect his draft status.

then what was Clowneys excuse? him "not trying" doesn't matter to scouts when you have the tangibles.

Guess he does have a kid. Quoted as saying he wants to be rookie of the year. Hopefully he gets his chance.

What's up with college football players having children?

Apr 30, 2016, 2:08 PM

Are they married? Are they currently or do they have any intention of providing a real family life for these children? If so, if impregnating a girl was a conscious decision to start a real family for all of the right reasons, complete with husband and wife with the children being the number one priority above all else, then great. Or, if it is a slip up, an irresponsible act which they own, and from which they can grow and do the right thing, then good for them.

On the other hand, if they have irresponsibly created a human life with a woman, with no intention before or after of becoming a normal, stable family where the child is the number one priority, then shame on them.

It seems to me that this is more and more commonplace, and for the one's that are doing it the right way, good for them. For the one's that aren't, shame on them. I imagine that these players get educated about drugs, alcohol, and generally staying out of trouble and representing the university with honor and dignity. Somebody needs to be coaching them on why they shouldn't get girls knocked up until they're ready to settle down and start a real family. Good people make mistakes and act irresponsibly all the time, and how they respond makes all of the difference in the world. That kind of behavior should still be discouraged rather than accepted as normal, just the way it is, or for God's sake, desirable.

Regardless of the reason, the NFL noticed the massive drop off and will either attribute it to lack of heart, injury, or lack of talent. I truly hope he does not end up in undrafted free agent territory. That is a long risky road to success in the NFL.

Sad situation, but his effort to tackle that receiver in the ACC champanionship game told the story. The film does not lie.
