Just the facts

Posted: Nov 11, 2012 2:26 PM

All of the love for the SEC from ESPN and the polls prompted a look at the current year SEC out of conference schedule to see exactly what the league has accomplished outside of the league so far. Below are just the facts.

The 14 teams in the SEC so far this year have played 45 out of conference games. 9 of those 45 games have been against teams in a BCS conference or an independent. The SEC record in those 9 games is 4-5. None of the 4 wins have been against a team who is currently ranked in any poll (AP, Coaches or BCS). Those teams are NC State, Arizona State, Michigan & Washington. All 5 losses have been to teams who are currently ranked in any poll. Those teams are Clemson, Northwestern, Louisville, Rutgers & Texas.

But El Cheelo computer tells us that those wins are monumental. MONUMENTAL

Not that it changes your point, but Michigan is ranked again***
