Just lost my 4 tickets

Ticket vendor called and said their account got hacked, and they had to cancel orders and refund all tickets.
How do I tell my kids...and my brother in law?

Got the hotel straightened out easily enough. Tickets not so much. If you need to see confirmations of the order and refund, I can't mail them to you. What kind of a person would make this stuff up.
Better yet, call my brother in law, who one of the tickets was for, and who is halfway to Tampa right now. He will be checking into our rooms in about 4 hours.

Calling out does nothing. Buy on Stubhub or Vivid Seats. Pay the extra fees as insurance and guarantee yourself a ticket.

If you can relax and wait until Monday afternoon. Tickets will drop like a rock
After 8 PM the tickets are worthless hang on and you could end up with 4 tickets
for $750 total and in the lower bowl. You can't panic and you have to be patient.

On the brightside, there is a refund of your money. I hope you get tickets and enjoy it. The worst thing that could happen is to go to one of the viewing parties around the stadium. Good luck.

But just know that the guy lied to you. He didn't get hacked. Just like the stock market, he's in a short squeeze. The only difference is that he can just walk away.
He sold everyone tickets he didn't have in his possession (he sold "short"). He needs to buy tickets in order to sell them to you. Ticket prices are way more than $750 now, so he'd be at a loss actually going through with the order to you (and anyone else he did this to). Now he realizes that tickets aren't dropping when they normally drop and he knows they won't drop below the level he sold them to you (at least in time for when he guaranteed the tickets); so instead of telling you the truth of what happened, he made up some hacking story to save face.
My personal opinion is there needs to be laws to prevent this activity. It's not illegal, but it's ethically horrid. Good luck trying to find tickets; but even if you don't, you'll have fun just being in Tampa!

Just buy tickets at the game, if you don't mind missing kickoff you can get them for face value or under face value.
