Clemson doesn't chase stars they go after good fits and people willing to work. Look at these rankings and think about how many of these guys are either A) finding their place in a prominant role for Clemson or B) On an NFL roster after a great career some of which in the 1st round.

Who's your pick for the next star at Clemson who isn't highly recruited or rated out of this great 2019 class.

Completely agree with your overall point. What recruiting service are you basing these off of? I thought Chase Brice was a 4 star by at least a couple services.

Thanks. I prefer to rely on the 24/7 composite rankings too since it takes into account ESPN, Rivals and Scout(24/7).

I would say that Chase Brice is one that ESPN and Rivals were more accurate on given that they had him at 4 stars, but that's usually the case. Just take ESPN's rankings last year that had Fields ranked ahead of Lawrence.

My guess for the 3 star recruit in this class that ends up playing like a 5 star is Tayquon Johnson. I just noticed that ESPN actually has him a low 4 star, but I just think he's gonna end up being our next dominant guy in the middle in a couple years.

Maybe Hunter Rayburn as well. Given the numbers for our OL in the previous two cycles (not counting any other potential OL in this class) I would guess that Rayburn will end up getting his shot at guard.

Anytime I see our staff go after a 3 star guy as one of our top targets I feel like they must have seen something that makes them feel very confident that he will end up playing better than his recruiting rating would indicate.
