I can remember him blowing a pitchers mind...Like 5,6,7 throws trying to nail him at 1st base. Then he would go on #8.

He was one of the greatest ever - ever! One of the greatest who always (always) will be remembered for simply playing the game as few have ever played it before, or since. RIP Lou Brock.

Yep, he was a great one and an even better base runner and you're right, he got into the heads of the pitchers when he got on base.

Because Brock was such an effective leadoff hitter a lot of people don't know that he could hit for power. He is one of only four players to ever hit a home run to dead center in the old Polo Grounds in New York. The other four were a player named Easter of the Negro League and then Hank Aaron and Joe Adcock. Dead center was 483 ft from home plate.
