Truck WiFi @ tailgates?

Aug 19, 2019, 9:43 AM

I've tried to use my Verizon Hotspot several times over the past few years to stream tv without much luck. We are out at Park @ Valley Walk. Just got a new truck (Chevy, which I believe uses the AT&T network) which has unlimited wifi, and was wondering if that is any more capable than my mobile hotspot of picking up cellular signals on game day. I doubt it, but figured I'd ask if anyone has any experience.

It isnt the provider..it is the flow.

So your question is really..how many att users go to clemson games..

I use tmobile which is probably the least used. I have no issues when I get to my tailgate at 8... as more people flood in the service gets worse and worse. Nearly unusable by game time.

running for the wifi to work. Sounds like a deal breaker for tailgating.

Our suburban WiFi works with just the accessory on and not the engine. Still won’t stream live tv well once the crowds fill in. 330 kick won’t work well after 11am for example.

Besides games the wifi works great for YouTube tv on road trips

Once the crowd arrives...

in most cases, your vehicle wifi won't stream fast enough for live television.

If you want to watch live games at your tailgate, you need to just bite the bullet and get a generator and a satellite set-up. If you have a large group who tailgates with you, have everyone contribute to minimize the start-up cost.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
