Just curious, why is no one talking about the defense?

Jan 12, 2016, 11:59 AM

Is there a BV interview somewhere? I'd like to see it. Granted, we were the walking wounded on defense last night. Boulware hurt. Lawson hurt. Alexander out. I think Alexander's injury hurt us more than any others with the huge plays they got after he left. We held our own in the trenches (on both sides of the ball), but the defensive backfield did not have a good night.

My take, CBV can improve ....

1. Get the defensive play calls in quicker.
2. Develop a better base defense where the safeties and LBs are deeper. This may reduce some of the TFLs but help reduce chink plays.

Our defense is high risk , high consequence good or bad.

Green made the same mistakes he always makes.

With just 2 year playing Safety, another year will help him greatly improve. Kearse needs to leave. Hate to say it, but if he's not been plating with some sort of groin injury that we haven't been told about, he's been playing not to get hurt for about the last half dozen games.

Because BV is pissed & they played above expectations

If it wasn't for our front four, NONE this team loses 3 games this year. They single handedly ran this team.

That being said, the back DID play well last night (see our 4-6 coverage sacks). They just didn't play perfect.

1. Kearse is NOT playing like he did last year, and with his mindset, I say good luck in the NFL
2. We are NOT as deep in the back or at LB as Alabama is; But we are getting there!
3. As long as we keep BV and can develop some depth from LB on back, we will be in Tampa next year!

Enjoy the season we had. Over 300 teams were sitting at home watching us last night.

I guess we can be like the coots in saying "Wait Till Next Year!".
