Just a reminder that Georgia is still soft

Aug 15, 2014, 10:30 AM

As is evidenced by Grady, Vic & Crawford taking their lunch money last year. How do a bunch of guys who call themselves offensive linemen let themselves get punked like that? Tajh and Sammy are gone, but they're not the ones who violated Georgia's football team last year.

Oh, and we won't even talk about the pathetic flopping that's a disgrace to the game of football that they put on a clinic for that night.

And then there's them acting hard at the bottom of the hill before the game only to lose in front of an audience of millions. Ha! How embarrassing. I guess being a thug doesn't make you a good football player?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, yeah, but

Aug 15, 2014, 10:31 AM

They beat us some back in the 60s.

And also Vandy is skrong, so by losing to them the Dawgs are better.

Did I cover everything?

Tajh and Sammy didn't play in the 60s so your argument is invalid. Or something like that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No you left out the part about how we'd jump at the chance

Aug 15, 2014, 10:32 AM [ in reply to Yeah, yeah, but ]

to be part of that superior conference so we could ride coat tails and lick #### of every one who is better than us in the conference and live through them.

Including Anchor Down and a B12 team...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Vandy would have won the Coastal....

Aug 15, 2014, 10:33 AM [ in reply to Yeah, yeah, but ]

Even though they barely beat a Wake team at home, whom we destroyed.

Except your defense did not dominate other than the interception. Your two best players on offense are gone and it's going to take time to adjust.

There's that word again. I don't think you don't know what that means.

Yeah how embarrassing losing to a top 10 on the road by three after two of your best players go down.

No, what's embarrassing is to taunt your opponent on their home field and then go on to lose for any reason. The ones doing the taunting are entitled to no pity or excuses.

Wasn't Gurley out for a drive?

Aug 15, 2014, 1:54 PM [ in reply to Re: Just a reminder that Georgia is still soft ]

Please, he was present and aside from a single play, contained fairly well for one of the top RBs in the country

Clemson

You do realize he was injured after that big 75 yard TD right?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You do realize he was out for only a drive or two, right

Aug 15, 2014, 2:38 PM

Meaning...a whole other half of football, he was there

The half that he rushed for 156 yards on 12 carries?

No. He got hurt. Missed half of the game.

Aug 15, 2014, 1:55 PM [ in reply to Re: Just a reminder that Georgia is still soft ]

You're right; it wasn't embarrassing to lose, it was embarrassing HOW you lost. There's no excuse for blatant flopping.

Clemson would have been embarrassed had you actually won after all that flopping but the fact remains that you didn't.

Now, you will lose in your own stadium after flopping thus cementing the fact that your program is soft & Clemson is why.

In other words, you have no rebuttal for flopping and taunting and then LOSING being embarrassing.

I guess that makes sense, considering you have to bring up South Carolina to have any real leverage in a conversation with us.

Actually I said there are real examples of flopping, other than one player. And every team does it including Clemson.

I only brought up South Carolina because you brought up Vandy

of the posters on TigerNet today.

The fact remains that Richt is no match for Dabo.

He will be so out-coached that by the 3rd quarter he'll be calling a hail mary bomb on 1st & 30 down 2 TDs.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Didn't dominate except for the interception lol

Aug 15, 2014, 1:55 PM [ in reply to Re: Just a reminder that Georgia is still soft ]

boy your a goodun!!

Gurley's injury had nothing to do with our physical defensive play. I'll give you the "celebration" injury as it really was a result of a boneheaded move and FYI, the interception was not the only dominate defensive play.

The OP is partially tongue in cheek, I think.

Aug 15, 2014, 1:59 PM [ in reply to Re: Just a reminder that Georgia is still soft ]

And most of the rest of us are thinking emotionally because game time is almost here.

I think Clemson fans... in real life, when they are not talking smack on the internet, respect UGA's program and history and just desperately want us to win. Very few moderate Clemson fans are expecting anything less than a hard fight.

Agreed it's going to be a very tough game for both teams. The ones that think either team is going to dominate, is incredibly delusional

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

now that that's out of the way

Aug 15, 2014, 2:13 PM

I tend to agree, it will not be an easy game for either team unless something very surprising happens.

I think Georgia fans are not aware that losing tahj and sammy is not a be all end all for this offense. It is built to plug and play players and we have the talent for it to be very successful just like last years offense there will just be more pieces involved. All of those pieces got significant reps last year and Cole has done nothing in his meaningful and non meaningful snaps to say he will be a weakness. Our defense will be very good.

This game will come down to a line of scrimmage battle your O against our D and vice versa.

Re: now that that's out of the way

Aug 15, 2014, 2:20 PM

But playing mop up duty is a far cry from starting in your first game in a hostile environment. If Cole doesn't play hot out of the gate and our offense picks up a couple scores early it's going to be insanely loud

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

As a georgia fan I wouldn't expect you to know about

Aug 15, 2014, 2:25 PM

the times when games were not put away like FSU a couple years ago when Tahj was banged up for a series or two and Cole ran the offense perfectly. Cole has filled in multiple times when Tahj would need a break for injury or such.

All of Cole's snaps have not been mop up duty but if you choose to think that way so be it, just be warned that you are severely underestimating Clemson and I will leave it at that!

We have enough weapons and lateral passes to help

Aug 15, 2014, 6:03 PM [ in reply to Re: now that that's out of the way ]

mitigate the oldschool problem of a 1st year QB. Our system, plus the fact that Stoudt has played on the road and against good teams causes me to lose concern about him freaking out. As good as Tajh was, very few QBs in CLemson history epic-ly collapsed like he did.

I expect our offense to be better as a whole this year. I honestly think our Oline, and our WR's are bigger question marks than our QB. Again, our experience with Tajh swung violently between amazing and horrible.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think you're wrong about the D not dominating

Aug 15, 2014, 2:50 PM [ in reply to Re: Just a reminder that Georgia is still soft ]

From mid-2nd-quarter to near the end of the 3rd quarter, UGa could get nothing going. 6 straight scoreless possessions, with a couple of turnovers. Our DE's were completely abusing your OT's.

Also, Gurley was not hurting in that game at all. He did miss a few series in the first half, but came back full strength. Had a couple of nice runs in the 2nd half but was kept mostly in check by the Clemson front 7.

Awwww, you poor thang. UGA lost a 3 pter on the road putting up 545 yards of total offense and 35 on the board last year......hardly soft. But i'll tell you whats soft, try the team that had 15 total yards of offense in the 2nd half, zero yards rushing, an oline that gave up 5 sacks and an offense that went 3 and out on seven straight possessions. that same team's defense was forced into submission and that's putting it kindly.....they basically quit. Ga made clemson quit. Is that not more embarrassing?

Clemson simply had bad field position the entire second half.
