Skip Wise was the best player, but he didn't have quite the accolades that Rome brought to campus. It was only after the season started that we all saw exactly what a once-in-a-lifetime talent Wise was.
I have to say that getting Tree Rollins the year before was pretty special too.

We've gotten 4* recruits but their offers were the likes of Winthrop, SC State, Charlotte, etc.
Frankly, until they get a McIntire and a "Big O" I won't watch a game. I'm not a basketball fan at any level and until we put a team on the court that has an identity I will not watch.

This is absolutely sad and pathetic.
I would say Terrence Oglesby. I knew what an added dimension we were getting. Hate that he left early.

Yes, as a great shooter with unlimited range. Purnell said they set out to find a pure shooter and that he was the best one they saw all summer, so they got him.

I agree with knowitall . Tree Rollins . I was a sophomore when I saw Tree walking around campus during registration for classes . I remember him wearing a body shirt and thinking "wow , what long arms this dude has . Watched every home game we had for the next 4 yrs. The following year was so exciting cause of the great players Tate's Locke brought in ( Wise , Rome , Abraham and almost Moses Malone ) . Ahhh ...what could have been ...now we know the TarHeels were cheating as bad as anyone .

With the holes. He never really got past the shoulder issue. Wayne Buckingham was another HS stud and he blew out his knee. And what about Clarke Bynum?

I remember being so excited when Noel Johnson picked us because he graduated from my rival high school the same year as me. I used to play against him in middle school, and later watched he and his teammate Brandon Boykin (UGA football) light up our gym
Devin Booker I thought was going to be as good or better than Trevor
Donte Hill was a tall PG with good vision and ball skills. I was sorry to see him go
Jennings....speaks for himself

Milton Jennings. I thought he was really going to elevate our program. It didn't long to see he was over rated though.
