Josh Sweat/Byron Cowart

Dec 4, 2014, 7:50 PM

Wonder why we haven't gone after an elite DE this cycle considering what we are losing this year? Seems like we could at least get an OV considering we but DL in the NFL on a yearly basis.

Yep and our recruited DEs are ALL IN and want to be Tigers.

But I think we did go after Sweat and briefly he considered visiting at one time but never did.

I hear the other DE Cowart is a great kid. He wants to play for Florida or Bama I think. Who knows. Haven't kept up too much with them

If they both go to FSU

Dec 4, 2014, 8:34 PM

which is VERY possible it could set up a gigantic matchup of Hyatt/Fruhmorgen vs. Sweat/Cowart. At the opening Sweat said Hyatt was the toughest he faced there and Fruhmorgen and Cowart are both from the Tampa area and actually scrimmaged against other before the season with Fruhmorgen getting the best of the matchup. Hyatt's very battle tested too, bursting onto the national recruiting scene by his performance against Nkemdiche, then the next year going against Lorenzo Carter. Sweat had a bad knee injury that may force him to redshirt and Cowart has been a UF lean but with all the trouble they're having that may push him to FSU. If Muschamp lands at Auburn then he's an Auburn Tiger in my opinion. Sweat's been leaning Noles lately according 247 with his decision date soon.

Don't be surprised if they both are Noles but I like our OL commits too!

Yeah it just seems like some elite weakside DE would be drooling to play in a defense like the one Clemson has. But I guess Ferrell was recruited to play the weakside so I feel better knowing we have a beast committed to play that side. Also I forgot about LaSamuel Davis. It may take him some time to fill that frame but I heard he is a baller on that side.

BV turned VB into a monster DE in college , and he is sure to be a 1st round NFL DE/LB hybrid .
Vic was a 3?TE/RB I believe ...so it is clear that our defensive coaches are masterful.
