May be a sad but true reality for him, he has made his money though, if anyone could find a way to use his skill it would be the Pats. Think all the injuries have taken away a lot of what made him such a special player. He seems to be a great dude, he'll be fine...

They must be Ohio State fans. That Jets organization is the worst anyway... I hope he sticks around Rutherford for a couple days and gets a meeting with Jerry Reese. I'd love to see him with the Giants!

Spiller's career was essentially over when Buffalo drafted him too high. Picked at #9, they basically had to give him feature-back touches, and he was never going to be durable enough to handle that in the NFL. Not to mention he's just a pure speed back, and NFL backs have to be able to run between the tackles to have sustained success. He should've been used as a 3rd down back, occasional slot receiver, and returner, and he would've likely had a successful 10+ year run as a solid gadget player similar to Darren Sproles, but that limited usage would've been viewed as a waste of a top-10 pick. Buffalo tried to phase him in while phasing out Fred Jackson, and only got two good years out of him before he broke down. Now he's not as fast as he used to be which is pretty much the only thing he had.
