The frat that did this stupid party: roll a few heads and make an apology.

Move on and do some diversity training or whatever you're asked to do. Be thankful that you don't have to actually encounter crips in your daily lives as they are pretty mean.

Not condoning what they did at all but I have friends in SAE and that party is something they've done almost every year. The only difference is that this one got national attention due to what's going on nationally what with Ferguson and all. Once again not condoning what they did at all, told my friend not to participate and now the fraternities suspended. Dumb decision.

Not to mention SAE just had a brother graduate who was black last year. And had a black pledge this semester that ended up having to drop pledging for personal, financial reasons.

I actually got a kick out of it when I saw it on the news. I'm a CU grad and proud of it. There have always been parties like this not only at Clemson but every College around the nation. For all you sensitive a##'s, get a life and worry about more important problems around our nation! I guess its OK to protest in the streets, burn down businesses, revolt, etc etc when something happens in another state you're apposed to but have one harmless party and now you're recognized as a raciest school. Come on Clemson, stop worrying about crap like this...

The only the people that have a problem with this are ones that like to start problems out of nothing,

2018CUGrad -
does that mean you're a freshman now and plan on graduating from Clemson in Spring 2018?
Just curious.

Why doesn't one person ever stand up and say stop?

It's ironic that frats sometimes act like a gang - no one with the guts to stand up and say "stop" "this is stupid". "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing" - Churchill
And before you hate on me I was in one.

What I'm saying is someone in leadership at sae needs to just own this, apologize for its dumb immature theme, and move on. i just think it's generally sheltered suburban kids who think this gangster stuff is novel. They really have no clue what the crips are about. I really don't think this was racist intent; but it has been perceived to be so they need to just do themselves and Clemson a favor and do what they can to put this to rest.

FYI- SAE Advisors stepped in the moment this story broke, December 7th, and suspended ALL fraternal activity INDEFINITELY. Most of the SC Nu chapter's officers resigned and any member who attended the event could face suspension, pending the internal investigation results.
SAE National leadership has condemned the actions of those responsible and clearly has gone the extra mile to begin to steer this chapter back on the "correct" path.

The Greek system isn't to blame. The kids who threw the party (that's apparently been named something similar for years now) aren't to blame.
It just sucks - with regards to timing with the whole Ferguson thing.
Stop making thread after thread about it. Worst part of T-Net, honestly....'threads gone wild'.
