Jayron Kearse

I just watched the kickoff return by Alabama and noticed that Jayron was 2 steps behind Drake and could not run him down, while TJ Green ran from the other side of the field from the 50 to catch him at the goal line. I remember him running the Notre Dame player down from behind like he was standing still, so is he hurt? Can't coach speed, but it doesn't disappear either.

Agreed that he did not appear to move as easily

I started noticing those types of things around mid-season. I wasn't sure if he was protecting his future self, or maybe injured, but definitely different. Not knocking him, but his jersey was very clean over the last portion of the season. Great player though.

Also of note, TJ Green is the fastest player on the field...

I thought he was injured, he makes no tackles and appears to be slower , remember Louisville last year

I wonder if he kind of declared for the draft in his mind and didn't want to get hurt.

Really like Kearse but honestly I hope he goes Pro. Always seems to be out of position and looks lost. Great run defender but don't think looks at film enough or something. Blown coverages have killed us this year

Think Kearse was looking towards his NFL future and playing not to get hurt since mid season, and I'm not trying to knock him but Alexander and Lawson had just as much to lose as him! No doubt in my mind that those two gave 100 all season long, and with that said I give Kearse props for any efforts he gave because we wouldn't have made it there without him.

I wanted to say it, but was dancing around as I didn't want to. He did check out..has a new born, family in his ear. He'll be training for the combine immediately.

I danced around it this year too but afther witnessing what Watson did last night coming off an ACL against what most calls the best defense in Alabama history.....anyone on that team can be respectfully analyzed.

This stands out to me. Shaq declared yet he still balled out and chose to play hurt! He wanted nothing more than to be all in. Jayron, just not sure what has happened to the #1 we say the first half of the year.

He also didn't try to run down Henry on Bama's 1st TD.

Was within arms length of him but went for the desperation lunge at his shoulder pads and missed, and Henry's not even that fast. I also believe he got out run by the TE on one of those big gainers. He looked slow out there last night and has for a while now really.
If he gets to the combine and runs like that he's gonna put up a 4.7 and that high 2nd round draft grade is gonna vanish.

If you watch the video, it is obvious something is not right. He also let UNC receiver get into endzone without even pushing him out of bounds right before onside kick in ACC Championship.
