I've said it for years, the majority of the traffic on 95

is commercial traffic and visitors. I drive it a lot for scokker games and it is in terrible shape. Let the Yanquis and drug runners pay for it.

They could also put a toll at the 95 and 26 merge.

We could probably go income tax free with that just on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

This could backfire and end up costing the state lots of $

Many apps out there can avoid toll roads. The booths would have to be strategically placed where taking an alternate route would cause 30 mins+ travel time added so people think paying the toll is worth it. I wonder what kind of 'TOLL' this is going to put on the routes people use to avoid 95. They could be causing more issues than this is worth...
-increased wear and tear on other primary/secoundary routes
-increased traffic will mean increased standards --meaning increased costs-- on other primary/secondary routes when improved
-may cause need for intersection improvements due to higher traffic volume on other routes (including adding signals)

The toll booths themselves are going to cost millions to install, maintain, and pay employees. The ROI will probably be years before any profit is even seen.

Just get the dammed federal government to fund resurfacing/widening 95. It's their interstate.
