Especially considering he was caught before.

It's stupid that it's illegal.

Painfully stupid and that is coming from someone with no interest in it at all.
However, once you've been caught with it, you keep your nose clean else you endanger your livelihood. In that regards it was stupid on Hill's part.

How could you ignore the terrors of tripping on pot?
Feb 27, 2012, 6:51 PM

Don't you realize that if pot were made legal it would trigger a massive drug war in Mexico that would kill over a thousand innocent people a year which could eventually spill in the United States and severely destabilizing our efforts to protect our borders?! Also making it illegal would cost the government millions of dollars. Think about it, we have to keep our cops busy because all of the other crime problems have been solved.
You act as if the government could tax it and probably save billions of dollars a year from revenue, decreased enforcement and tax income from reduced unemployment due to the tens of thousands of individuals blacklisted from many jobs thanks to their arrest records for possesion.
GATEWAY DRUG!!!!!! MORALS!!!!!

I'm not sure that this has much to do with liberal-conservative issues. Wouldn't conservatives want to reduce the size of government by reducing the amount of people who are in jail, especially those serving sentences for non-violent drug offenses (purchase/use, not sale or distribution)? Prisons are very expensive and incarcerating people also has tremendous impacts on society (more single parent families, less earning capacity, more need for government assistance, etc.). For certain populations in our society, imprisonment has become more and more of a norm. Certainly, some of that is the fault of the criminal, but some of it is due to our criminalization of what are better classified as addictions.
And just so it's clear how ridiculous our prison system has become, the United States incarcerates more people per capita than any other country in the world!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_incarceration_rate
We incarcerate around 743 people per every 100,000 people in the general population. The next closest western democracy is the UK, at 157 per 100,000. Does anyone think this has made us a safer country? Does anyone think we have less drug abuse problems than other countries? Does anyone think that it is worth the cost both in dollars and in terms of its impact on society?

I used to smoke a little weed in college, and the only harm it did was to my short- term memory. In reality, I saw way more problems created by binge drinking, drunk driving, and keg parties. All we did after smoking some grass was sit on the couch and watch Beavis & Butthead.

I tried it the first time this weeken. My tooth was killing me. The antibiotic nor the pain killers were working yet. My cousin the pot head said take a hit or two of this, and it will stop hurting. It did work. I would have always said no to making it legal. Funny how pain will change your mine. I now say please let dentist write scripts for it. But ### it made me hungry with a bad tooth.

Alcohol under 21 the same thing. 18 or a hsd should allow you to drink. The earlier you graduate thecearlier you can legally drink. The problem is lawers, ins co, and gov can't make any money off of you for underage drinking.
