I've analyzed every playoff setup - this is the best

We need to setup a selection committee of 13 members. These members will include 1 AD from each "major" conference (ACC, SEC, PAC-12, B1G, and B12). The remaining 8 members will include former coaches, players, athletic directors and one retired member of the media.
After 7-8 weeks into the college football season this committee will meet every week to discuss how the teams should be ranked. By this point in the season teams have played enough to get a feel for who they are.
At the end of the season after championship weekend the committee will pick who they feel are the best 4 teams. Why 4? Usually there aren't more than 3-4 teams who have a 'realistic' shot at winning the playoff and typically teams selected for the top 4 have beaten the teams ranked 5-10.
These 4 teams will play in two knock-out semi final games at a pre-determined neutral site location. The winner of each semi will play for the national championship.

My only fear is that they would try to sneak in 2 SEC teams

And some bad teams would sneak in every year in that 4th spot but always lose their semi-final matchup essentially giving the #1 ranked team a bye.

Did you come up w/that system before or after you got stoned? That system would never allow a team from the weak ACC to make it into the final 4.

Of course the downside is all of those fans wanting to know who is the best 5th - 8th team are going to be terribly disappointed. Me, myself, and I really don't care!

not extending the postseason.
Start with 64 team, 16/conference with 4 pod, 4 teams/pod and let the last couple games of the regular season narrow it down to the remaining 4.
Bust the Big 12 and cull he Dooks and Wakes from every conference. Looking at Missou, Vandy and USuCK.
