Turned out incredible... Made a horseradish sauce and served with roasted taters and carrots...

This one was about 8 lbs so I decided to give it a try. Outside of the meat, costs were pretty minimal.

Did you put any rub on it?

I put a salt/pepper/garlic mixture on it and the outside was incredible.

Planning on getting this in the near future for constant temp guaging

and the pressure cooker portion is amazing. But I keep reading that a convection oven is a better air fryer.

Assuming you really did cook it in the instant pot - did you use the Sous Vide feature?

yes, i cooked it in the Duo which also has the air fryer

took about 1 hr 20 mins. and i actually cooked it slightly too long. Not enough red for my liking. But I fully recommend if you have the air fryer top..

No didnt use Sous Vide. Not sure what that is yet :) Still learning

sous vide lets you get the perfect temp inside across the whole cut. Might be tough with a big lump like a prime rib, but for ribeyes it is amazing. You basically cook the steak in a bag at exactly 120 degrees until it gets to 120 internal and then finish on the grill or a hot cast iron to get the browning and malliard reaction for a perfect edge to edge rare with a good sear.

It is hard to screw up prime rib

or beef tenderloin. The only way to screw up is over cook.
