Ever see a performance, where the audience is so gobsmacked, they hesitate to react at the end? It happens at 9:31, here.

As a musician, Vic Chesnutt knew how to dredge up sad stuff and mix it with humor in a very Southern way, better than anyone I've ever listened to. But this song is all silence/crescendo/thunder:

and at the time, it was weird because unexpected. In retrospect, it was good music. I enjoy Vic songs but he was deep and dark AF. I guess being a cripple for life with terrible depression and substance abuse problems will do that to you.

Protein Drink > Sewing Machine that Panic plays is one of my favorites. Saw it at Red Rocks and they blew the doors off the place.
