Why is Venables getting a pass when his defense gave up

two long touchdown drives within the last 9 minutes to let them crawl from down 27-10 to down 30-24 and kicking an onsides kick? There is not a doubt in my mind that if Troy had recovered the onside with 48 seconds, they would have scored a touchdown. Just like I know if UNC had not been screwed on the onside at the ACCCG, they would have scored in 1:30.
Why is Venables getting a pass? What about when Troy had 3rd and 9 at their own 25 and get 9 yards. That set up a 4th and 1 at their own 34. What do they do? They come up and try to draw us off sides. Then they call timeout and come back out and we realize they are really going for it. We call a time out, talk it over, go back out and they run a 4th and 1 off tackle for a 66-yard touchdown.
Why is the offensive line so bad? This problem could be overshadowed by dropped balls, missed throws and interceptions, but kind of hard to miss our running backs getting thrown for 4 to 7 yard losses regularly. And that 4th and 1 where we got stuffed, typical.

right now. The O is so bad that it puts a lot of pressure on the D. A couple of mistakes, which they certainly have had, and they look bad, but the fact is that the O puts them in a bad spot.

The offense not functioning smoothly is the cause of a lot of our problems. It puts the defense on the field far longer than they need to be.
