TOTAL B.iaS. for any Conference to have 5 of Top 10 teams...

Oct 20, 2012, 11:28 PM

...in the rankings at any point of the season. It completely negates any fair opportunity for equitable consideration and upward movement of other teams from that point forward as well as automatically skewing the Computer rankings. This has to be fixed. Screw ESecPN and their favoritism for the Conference that lines their pockets with cash.

UGA and SC are top 25 teams, but not top 10***

Knew that before the season, along with Arky.

Now we have Miss St, who actually will play more than one good team this year. Unlike UGA, who only plays FLA this year.

UGA was ranked so high preseason because of an easy schedule

last year. UGA might not even belong in the top 20 and thats pure SEC bias. SCar I do think has a good team, certainly not a top 5, but at least in the top 15.

It doesn't have any effect on the computer rankings. They

are completely independent of the human polls...

How do you think the Strength of Schedule component is calculated?!

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's not based on the human polls

Oct 21, 2012, 12:33 AM

It's based on the W-L records of your opponents and your opponents' opponents and things of that nature.

you do know the coaches poll and harris poll..

Oct 21, 2012, 12:35 AM

are used right?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not by the computers. Look at computer rankings

They are totally objective algorithms.

And no I'm not a effing coot. I love Clemson, but if you watch enough of the games, it's clear Florida, Bama, an LSU are very good teams. I think the rankings are usually pretty spot on if you view them as a combination of judging on results and who are the best teams.
