That's going to be the narrative until someone replaces Deshaun.I certainly believe there is a lack of respect for the talent at QB that Clemson already has on campus.Zerrick has a chance to be great. As next year unfolds and people start to become more impressed with our QB play this type of thing will fly out the window.Zerrick next year could very well being playing at a higher level than Hurts. I'm not sleeping on Kelly Bryant,either.Could be,at the least,a great change of pace QB in certain situations or against certain teams.Add in Hunter and Chase and we're in a great situation.

I don't think it's disrespectful to guess that we might have a little rebuilding to do after replacing guys like Watson, Williams and Gallman. If he were totally honest about it, that's EXACTLY what happened to bama. They had a freshman QB who had the surrounding cast to get him through the a down SEC, but when it came to the big game against real competition, we were just a little bit better. Bama has certainly outrecruited everybody; but our defense was deeper than theirs. Our defense out-performed theirs in the second half, giving our superior offensive weapons time to come back and win the game.

I'm not saying we're out of it for 2017; but as young as we are, I'd look for us to be contenders again in 2018 or 2019. That seems reasonable to me.
