Not sure I would agree with that at all. It would seem the 5 seed and 2 seed you would have to beat as a 3 seed would be tougher than the 6 and 3 seed you would have to beat as a 2 seed. So, unless you have extreme confidence you can beat everyone in the tournament except the best 1 seed, I think I would still prefer to be a 2 seed and have the slightly easier road to the Elite 8!

This would all be true if the bracket worked with true seeding. However, that's not the case. Conference affiliates and regional locations can change where teams are placed, regardless of what seed that matches them up with. Yesterday, #4 Purdue was matched with #6 Kansas, as was #3 Xavier with #5 Auburn.
