Feb 28, 2018, 9:01 AM

here is a great tool to answer all your questions about potential seedings as the season finishes up.

Nice this is very helpful, with the Miami win last night if we win out and nc st wins out we are 4 seed they are 3 seed and unc knocked out of top 4 to I think 6.

It looks like we can finish top 4 as well even if we split our remaining 2 games. As long as Duke beats UNC. If UNC wins though, we'll need two wins and a State loss.

We also need Miami to beat VT I believe

If UNC wins then we just need to win out and we will be the 4, Duke falls to the 5.

This seems to be flawed. We didn't defeat Duke. This seems to be the right order based on what many are saying though.

1. Virginia (17 - 1)
2. North Carolina (12 - 6) Defeated North Carolina State, Clemson, and Duke based on round-robin record.
3. North Carolina State (12 - 6) Defeated Clemson and Duke and lost to North Carolina based on round-robin record.
4. Clemson (12 - 6) Defeated Duke and lost to North Carolina and North Carolina State based on round-robin record.
5. Duke (12 - 6) Lost to North Carolina, North Carolina State, and Clemson based on round-robin record.
6. Miami (FL) (11 - 7)
7. Virginia Tech (10 - 8)
8. Florida State (9 - 9) Defeated Louisville based on record against #2 teams.
9. Louisville (9 - 9) Lost to Florida State based on record against #2 teams.
10. Notre Dame (8 - 10) Defeated Syracuse based on head-to-head record.
11. Syracuse (8 - 10) Lost to Notre Dame based on head-to-head record.
12. Boston College (6 - 12)
13. Georgia Tech (5 - 13)
14. Wake Forest (4 - 14)
15. Pittsburgh (0 - 18)

I think we just need to wait and see when everything has played out. At that time we will know exactly where we, Clemson Basketball stands after a pretty good season for a delighted change of pace for Clemson BBall!!! Hope is a good thing for our Basketball program!!!

when I saw "tool" I was almost sure this would be a Roy Williams related post

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

pretty crazy we can finish as high as 3 and as low as 9....

Feb 28, 2018, 10:04 AM

these next 2 games are critical! win both, we are good. split, we're ok. lose both, and we could be in the bottom half of the league

Playing with various scenarios, looks like 5th is most

Feb 28, 2018, 10:43 AM

likely, as long as we win at least one of the two remaining games.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Huh?

Feb 28, 2018, 11:05 AM

We have a great chance at top 4... and even a shot at 3.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

there is a realistic path that puts as the 6th seed

Feb 28, 2018, 11:57 AM [ in reply to Playing with various scenarios, looks like 5th is most ]

vs. SU/WF winner and then against 3rd seed NCSU in the Quarters. Duke the 2nd seed would likely have to beat Miami/ND winner to reach the semis. VT and UNC winner would likely face UVA in the other semi. Quite frankly that looks like a better set-up for success than a 4 seed double bye and UNC being a 5 with UVA likely awaiting the winner.
