As an old timer, CU/GA game is as big as CU/USC!

We used to take the houseboat up every year with Clemson and UGA fans! It is a great old rivalry. Somebody was always silent and on the roof going back to the Marina.

I got my first taste of the rivalry in 1965, when I was on

the sidelines in Athens as a Clemson cheerleader.
We didn't play them again until the last of September 1967, when they came to DV. We lead the Tigers down the hill before a raucous, capacity crowd of 45,000, which was the second home game and the second time touching Howard's Rock.
That 1967 game was one of the biggest home game weekends I recall, for there were thousands on campus and downtown all weekend for the game; our dates arrived on Friday; "The Tiger," as I recall put out a special edition, and dances and parties were in full swing.
The next year, my last at CU, we were back in Athens.
Unfortunately, conference alignments and TV have ruined a lot of old rivalries, as I've always believed that CU and UGA ought to be playing each year.
And I'll relate this: the Georgia folks I know in the Columbia area are as excited about this game, as we are.

never worried about USuck as much I did dawgs. I had the misfortune in high school of being at the game in Athens when Kevin butler made that ridiculous kick to win. I get jacked up for uga game and I'm ready to go nuclear. I want to smash them sooo bad. It's hard to explain to the new tiger blood, but trust me, this is a big time game for tigers - and always has been. But if we lose to Usuck again....
