the thing of it is, it didn't have to end this way. The handwriting was already going up on the wall 2,3 maybe even 4 years ago. It was all written clearly on the wall after last season. Why couldn't parties on both sides see this? And then come up with a way where he would not be going out at the bottom of his career, i.e., fielding a team that is likely not even making regional play? It's unfortunate.

to come down to the Tiger baseball team having a really crappy season (by Clemson standards) before anything gets done!!

Helen Keller AND Stevie Wonder saw this coming....(Ray Charles was out driving his caddie)...but no, we all have to wait until the program reaches historic lows for the appropriate folks to address the issue.

Jack Leggett has devoted about 30 years of his life to Clemson University and has produced some of the finest teams and players who were ever privileged enough to put on a Tiger uniform....he more than deserves to be treated with respect, dignity and friendliness. The University needs to find or invent a position for its HOF coach in the athletic dept. dealing with the baseball program......But equally, the need for a change at HC has been evident for a while.....And there'll be an adjustment time for the new coach as well that should've been figured into the time equation yet seems to have escaped attention.

What a freakin' waste of a season.

Anyone without the sense to know when to step aside (3 or 4 years ago) shouldn't be given a created job. And as far the devotion thing, give me a break. Goes in the same category with those who felt sorry for poor Billy Napier. Just look at what these guys make.

great post!!U sure are right that we had to sink this low before what should have been 5 years ago happens.. Also if the new coach is playing on a level($$$$) then this must be corrected
