can cause problems if you have to evict them. I've been down that road and it is even more uncomfortable when there is a personal/friendly relationship. Sorry I didn't have a silly/snarky reply to your post in the normal Joungy way. I'll work on it.

just ignore it and leave it "pending".
If they ever bring it up, just say that you don't check facebook anymore or dismiss it casually.
That's what I do when coworkers friend request me.
