and I've already been popped by 115v and the ensuing arc is causing a brown blurry dot in the middle of my vision.
We have a wall oven that's probably from the 70's. It works. Doesn't look too bad so who cares. Plus it's a weird measurement so will be expensive to replace.
Anyways there's an old timer on the oven that, at times starts going off for no reason.
Not any more.
Pulled the power wire to it and was going to wrap it in electrical tape. Probably should have flipped the breaker, but it was a small wire going to a small timer. Surely there can't be much power going through this little wire.
There was.
Hand slipped, hit the connection, snatching my hand away caused the connector to fall and hit the face plate creating a spark and pop.
It's been a wild morning.

Is this a good summary of the facts?
*Oven was plugged into the wall, 115v. It is now powered by any other source.
*Did not cut off breaker.
*Oven timer was jacked up. Small timer, fed by a small wire.
*Small wire can only get power from the 115v.
*Arc got ya.
I'm not an electrician, but even I know Darwinism when I see it. I hear you can actually replace that kind of stuff with your teeth if you get lucky enough.
