You better hope they pull out those helmets and outshine ND on the field as well. The helmets aren't for the fans. They are for the players and more importantly the recruits. I don't necessarily like them, but pulling them out for one game in the national spotlight is great for the national clemson brand.

Well said. Optics with the recruits and recruiting process is a big reason we've had such a run of banner classes the past several years. I have faith in Dabo and the staff to keep the delicate balance between preserving tradition and catering to the young'uns!

If we take care of business on the field helmets won't matter one iota to recruits. Recruits aren't going to come to Clemson because we wore hideous shiny helmets.

well actually we should guard Tillman - because people do actually want to burn it down.
The Bling helmets will NOT replace our traditions or otherwise great Image.
It does seem like if it was a BRIGHT WHITE PAW on the chrome Orange it might be better
Everyone should just embrace that we have gameday, top 10 game at home and the exposure.
I mean we could still Jack Hines coaching D or some other things to actually worry about

it could only be improved if the paw was white and the rest chrome
then there would be a stronger contrast

The young men don't know much about tradition with colors and stuff, nor do they really care about it like we do, they like bling. That helmet has some bling, and if it brings a few more highly rated recruits, then I'm all for it.

I'm an old f--t also but I don't understand how we can turn our head to kids wearing their pants around the knee, sleeves totally cut out to where I have to sit in an eating establishment with arm hair glaring at me but yet we critique a football helmet that still represents our team. Just my opinion.

I'm on ol' fart, and I don't mind the helmets.
However, I don't think the SHINY helmet goes with our unis. If we don't have a different uni, then I think it's stupid to do it. Would you put a shiny helmet on a Penn State uni? Absolutely not. CLEMSON is somewhat similar in our unis as to recognizing the brand. Putting a new shiny helmet on it just does not work IMO.
All that said - I think us ol' farts need to understand that this is a totally new generation, and they like new things. In that sense, we need to upgrade unis AND helmets. It's coming guys - just bend over and deal with it.
