Is there a Morris apprentice on staff?

Jun 17, 2012, 11:58 AM

If the offense keeps playing the way it did last year, Morris is gonna eventually get a job offer that's too good to pass up.

Is anyone on the staff being groomed to take over, or will someone have to be hired from the outside?

I don't know, but I am guessing Dabo is taking notes. He definitely should be. Also, maybe Jeff Scott. He is young and should still be learning if he wants to be an OC or HC some day.

I thought about Scott, but with him serving as recruiting coordinator, I would think his plate would be a bit too full.

What I mean is that he may be too tied up now, to put in the time to really learn it as well as he needs.

Dabo doesn't have a clue how to run an offense.

i said alot more, but i like t-net and didn't want to get banned so i'm changing it to this, you are the dumbest so-called clemson fan i have ever read on t-net, and that is bad. heck, some ,no all, of the coots on here are smarter than you, they know dabo wasn't our oc in '10, he had input but he wasn't the oc. dang, i sure hope you are still in hs, 'cause you are not near smart enough to go to clemson, heck, you couldn't even get into usuc.should have guessed, you have sos 's picture on your profile, 'nuff said.

Agree or disagree, this post says more about you than him.

You guys really hurt your cause when you rely so heavily on personal insults.

Which is exactly why he should be learning right? Morris is obviously a very good coach with a good system, everyone should be learning as much as they can from him.

A HC doesn;t need to run the O or the D

Jun 17, 2012, 8:04 PM [ in reply to Re: Is there a Morris apprentice on staff? ]

He needs to motivate the staff and players and hire the right assistants.

Not saying the HC can be clueless......that'd be foolish. Just as you saying Dabo doesn't have a clue is foolish.

Scott is a lot like Morris

Jun 17, 2012, 12:06 PM

Very bright and was a math major. Scott might even have a Master's degree in math

yes and yes. both jeff scott and tony elliot would be great under studies. i feel that both bleed orange, and are young, smart, and talented. to cut your teeth in div.1, at a school like clemson, makes the learning curve steep and fast. i hope that they are grilling him day and night, to get the in's and out's of this offense. the plays are easy, it's just the timing and "feel" of when you call a particular play. 'cause i agree with you whole-heartedly, the chad will soon get a job that is too good to pass up., but i hope that he stays long enough to groom these two young coaches, nothing would be better than to have clemson men at the helm of the "o".
