Ever before for any debate?
On the Trump side, everyone knows his policies
On the Biden side, i doubt anyone cares about any of his policies, for voting purposes. Hes not Trump
Im listening to people on tv argue polcies on both sides, thinking, does anyone really care with these 2?
The ratings will be high mainly for the entertainment imo

Not a fan of some of the topics...

I don't care much to hear the candidates talk about "The Economy" or "The Integrity of the Election". Both of those things would be more influenced by Congress than the President. I'd rather hear about foreign policy or the military, which are big jobs of the President, that I don't suppose will get talked about at all.

One thing the President may struggle with

What any incumbent should be able to do is highlight the successes of the previous term. That's the best way for the incumbent to win an election. I don't think the topics do the President any favors there. COVID-19, Race/Violence, and the Economy are not exactly topics where he can highlight a positive status.
If Foreign Policy or the Military were selected topics, the President would probably have more "ammo".

He could point to the fact that covid deaths so far are WAY less than the worst case scenario predictions.
He can point to the fact that all of the racial violence has been incited by supporters of the democrat party.
He can point to the fact that the economy was in a very good state pre covid, and that the policies of democrat governors have ruined their states economies while still suffering high rates of covid infections and deaths.

Just not sure how much it will resonate. Not being "worst-case" is not exactly a ringing success, when you compare US performance to other places. #2 just sounds like blaming other people. #3 is probably more effective.

Worst case was 1-2 million in the US. We’ve barely touched the low end of that worldwide.
#2 is just stating the obvious, unless you have examples of right wing groups rioting in the streets, destroying innocent people’s businesses and attacking the police.

I'm not saying the President should be to blame

for those things, I'm saying it's a difficult topic for him, because it's happening under his watch. He can't say "we're in a good place here". An incumbent needs to be able to say that.

I'm not sure he's capable.
His wheelhouse is name calling and making silly faces. I suspect he'll stick to that.

I'll watch for the entertainment value. Ever see one of those hockey fights where one guy pulls the other guy's jersey over his head and beats him to a pulp? it's gonna look a lot like that. Guess which one of those guys Biden will be?
