Because to make a statement like the one below, it has to be one of the two.
Doeren bragged on his staff's alleged recruiting dominance of the state of North Carolina.
"Our roster is full of in-state guys, and that's something we wanted to make a priority of five years ago. In this class we signed the state's top three players. So you're not just talking about things. You're able to back it up."
Top 10 in order according to Rivals:
Zamir White UGA
K.J. Henry The best team in CFB
Rick Sandidge Coots (even they did better than NCST in NC)
Jordyn Adams UNC
Ricky Person NCST (finally)
Dyami Brown UNC
Tre Turner VT
Payton Wilson NCST
Dax Hollifield VT
Jamal Currie-Elliott Oregon
Two out-of-state schools took the top players, and VT and UNC did just as well getting the top 10 if not better than NCST.

the general assessment of Doeren....if he can just continue to beat football-disinterested unc and make it to a late December bowl, he'll probably be able to hang on to the job for a while.....sorta like Muschump at usuck.

I've never really like Doeren tbh, he finally had a team finish above .500 and now he thinks they are hot stuff. He might have meant the best 3 they evaluated ????. He knows what the deal is just saying stuff to make the fans at NC st happy. They just lost slot of seniors if I'm not mistaken and don't think they will be very good this year. He's not a good coach and throws shade at others any chance he gets. He's one of those guys that thinks by making others look bad it makes him look better. He's just clueless, and has been for awhile. He's just a hater plain and simple. Go Tigers!!!

He credits his spinning of the facts while coaching at NC State as one of best Attributes. Doeren was the Head Football Coach at NC State from 2013 through 2018.

he just came off a great year by NCState standards, so it is not like he has to lie to his BOT about recruiting. He probably convinced himself that he get the 3 best guys in the state.

OK, guys. Let's give him a break. If you are the father of a son and someone asks you to describe your son, aren't you going to tell the world he's No. 1, even though all of the other fathers would disagree.
However, a smart coach would tell that to the players in the locker room and not to the public.
My above comment is for show. Now, for the truth. When the facts are there in front of Coach Doeren and he makes a statement, such as the one attributed to him, it does make one scratch their head and wonder how anyone could come to that conclusion. At best, he is a comic, and I'll not tread into deeper water.
