Is Dabo the Oliver Purnell of Clemson Football?

Nov 25, 2012, 1:00 PM

OP wins a lot of games he is supposed to and runs up a good win/loss record but always choked in the most meaningful games.

Agree or Disagree?

Dunno. This is the first year. We haven't lost to a bad team. IF we find a D during the offseason and still lose to decent teams, then yes.

You know you've raised a real tiger fan when you ask your son what he wants his cub scout pinewood derby car to be and he says a Tiger!

Actually Purnell won some games he wasn't supposed to and also lost a few he shouldn't have, all due to his diamond press system.

Dabo is TB 2.0 - he's slightly better due to a few extra

players and Morris. TB would still be HC had he made a better OC hire after RichRod left. Morris is great vs. bad or average teams, but slightly better than average/good teams beat him b/c he lacks experience play calling at this level, fails to make the right adjustments, and fails to follow the old rule - take what they give you. He thinks scheme wins, balance wins, but not in big time college football. Other teams and coaches are too good at adjustments. You can only dictate the play of the game if you have a superior OL, which we do not.

Dabo is in over his head, he has no clue how to truly win big games at this level. TB nor Dabo value a great OL. Look at our recruiting. Are we looking to bring in many OL this year? Ford knew you had to bring in 4 or 5 every year. We now have 85 schollies rather than 95, but we still need to bring in 4 OL with every class.
