Interesting stat about UVa game Saturday...

Brad Brownell is 0-11 vs top 5 teams at Clemson. Oh, snap...

I'm sure tons of coaches of college sports teams across the country are 0 and whatever against top 5 teams in the country.

The teams are top 5 for a reason. Clemson is not elite in basketball. Those two things are not going to add up to a lot of wins over top 5 teams.

I mean at least one win. The last coaches here did that.

Clemson spends most of its time unranked in basketball.

Usually a single unranked team may beat a top 5 team once every 8 or 10 years.

That may mean Brownell is due, but not beating a top 5 team is not remotely close to the top of the list of reasons to knock Brownell.

There is nothing interesting about the way we're playing lately. Really bad except ET when not fouling and Reed if he's shooting. Otherwise the turnovers, silly fouls, and turnovers just make this group hard to watch. Also lack of D and not blocking out contribute to this

He does have back to back wins over top 10 teams. He has been better at winning against that 11th-25th level team even if the upset over the top 10 as been difficult. He has been producing a consistently better product but his scheme (unlike Purnell) is less "upset minded".

For Clemson, by the time league play starts the "false" top teams have been exposed. So you are not going to get a win over a "preseason" top 5... but now most of the top 5 teams are 15 games in....
