I agree but the coots have shown they will throw $$$ at a coach and get him. Their membership in the SEC doesn't hurt either. Not sure VT will even come close to paying the amount of $$$ that the coots will.

VT is a better job period. Coaches have proven that you can win championships at VT, something that 2 coaching legends were not able to do in Cootville. Blacksburg is also a beautiful place to live and attend college, unlike the armpit in the midlands. Everything about VT is better...facilities, stadium, campus, city, education, history, etc.

Also recruiting. There's just so much talent in the Mike Vick/Tajh Boyd area. The pickings are kind of slim in SC and it takes years to build relationships with out of state high school programs. I think the VT position will just be a plug and play, for the right person.

As I've said in previous post predicting beamer would announce his retirement, Justin Fuente will be about 95% to be the next VA tech head coach.

What about Foster?? Will loyalty keep him on staff, or

will he now seek other opportunities (I think he could still get a HC gig at a SoCon or equiv school---or possibly a Coordinator position at another Div 1 school)

through the 2019 season.
Details of the Bud Foster contract extension were released on Saturday, and TechSideline.com was able to obtain a copy of the summary.
Foster signed a five year contract that will expire on December 31, 2019. Here is his base salary for each football season…

Foster will also be paid an annual $300,000 retention bonus. $150,000 will be paid on June 30, and the other $150,000 will be paid on December 1. Here’s how his yearly salary will look when you factor in the retention bonus…
2015: $900,000 2016: $925,000 2017: $950,000 2018: $975,000 2019: $1,000,000
Foster will also have opportunities to collect performance bonuses.
1)Frank Broyles Award: $10,000
A maximum of one of the following, whichever is the highest goal achieved…
1)Appearance in an ACC Championship Game: $5,000 2) Winning an ACC Championship Game: $7,500
A maximum of one of the following, whichever is the highest goal achieved…
1) Play in a third tier, non-College Football Playoff bowl game: $35,000 2) Play in Capitol One, Russell or Belk Bowl: $40,000 3) Play in Orange, Peach, Sugar or Rose Bowl: $50,000 4) Play in Fiesta or Cotton Bowl: $50,000 5) Play in College Football Semi-Finals or Finals: $60,000 6) Win the College Football Finals: $75,000
Other amenities of Foster’s contract include the use of an automobile, membership in a local country club, 16 tickets per home game, eight bowl game tickets, and University benefits.
If Virginia Tech terminates Foster’s contract, here’s how his buyout will look…
Prior to December 31, 2015: $1,300,000 Prior to December 31, 2016: $1,200,000 Prior to December 31, 2017: $1,100,000 Prior to December 31, 2018: $1,000,000 Prior to December 31, 2019: Remaining base salary divided by the months remaining
In the event Foster terminates the contract (I.E. leaves for another job) he will owe Virginia Tech the following…
Prior to February 15, 2015: $150,000 Prior to February 15, 2016: $75,000 On or after February 15, 2016: $0
TSL will receive a full copy of Bud’s contract on Monday, and we’ll update this article if there are any further important notes.

I would say yes but SC is offering a lot of money and a lot of coaches are dependent based on conference. I would say VT is one of the more premier openings so far. Second being Miami.

Money wise I would say the three best jobs that are open right now are:
1. Southern Cal 2. South Carolina 3. VT 4. Miami
Don't know what kind of money VT can throw around, so Miami and VT could flip flop.
