Importance of Tonight's Game

If FSU loses, the SEC hype machine will blast off into the stratosphere and deservedly so. The story will be that FSU ran roughshod over the ACC only to lose to a rebuilding SEC team in the title game.

This is a rebuilding FSU with a RS freshman QB

Remember, this was supposed to be our year to win the ACC?

Good point. However, FSU won double-digit games...

last season. On the other hand, Auburn won very few games, so it was much more of a rebuilding year for them.

I sometimes think that a major reason why FSU won only two national titles during its amazing run during the Bobby Bowden years was because it played mostly weak ACC teams. Of course, the ACC wasn't generally as bad in the 90s as it is today, but it was no SEC or Big 12.
