to get the grass to grow well around the homeplate area so it eliminates an ongoing maintenance problem for the grounds people.

which is basically a line between the dugouts and home plate, circling around the home plate area. Same as it was before, only a better quality turf.

that looks like some cheap indoor outdoor carpet remnant. I imagine what we get will look much better

but they are actually gluing the carpet directly to the concrete. Doesn't seem to be much of an improvement, if any, over what we had.

Seems like that would be one of the last items installed so it doesn't get damaged during the remainder of the construction work.
