Oh my, how convenient 20/20 hindsight is. Suppose he started Watson against the Dawgs and things didn't go well. Would your mantra have been that he shouldn't have thrown a true freshman to the dogs, literally?

I think you're right. Some people just want something to gripe about. I used to work with a guy like that. He was an engineer and his job was to upgrade equipment based on studies a group of women did. Their job was to tell him when he needed to do his job. He would gripe so much every time one of them gave him an update that they stopped passing the information on directly. They would tell his boss and have him pass along the information. He wasn't actually that bad of a guy, he just liked to gripe.
He's retired now and I wonder if he spends his time on Ohio State message boards complaining that the coach can't pick the right starting QB. If he'd started the freshman at the beginning of the season, they would never have lost to VPI.
